Who We Are

When I say, "The folks at White Feather Farm" I am wanting to convey the group feeling that is present here. This very rural area in upstate NY, a couple of miles from the border of Vermont, feels like one of the magical places on earth.

Although I make the balm myself and by hand, my husband Jack is a great help and support. He answers the phone, loads and unloads supplies and keeps the place tidy! Tom and Matt Getz (sons) are the moral support, new idea, creative, team.  They have friends who are always trying the balm on various ailments and report back the results.

The White Feather Farm

The white feather is a symbol of peace, friendship and a welcoming haven. When I came across an old sign (from a former local chicken farm) for White Feather Farm, I knew that it would be the name for my business. So, you might ask, "What do you raise on this farm?" Well, I am more in the business of "raising people's spirits" than raising animals. We have lovely gardens (that Jack tends to), six cats, a German Shepherd, a "for fun" pumpkin patch that grows all around our house every fall, and assorted wild creatures that visit (on their own schedule of course) us daily which include dear, rabbits, mice, fox, squirrels, chipmunks, turkeys, and coyotes on ground level; above us Canadian Geese, red-tailed hawks, dragonflies, herons, ducks, cardinals and assorted small seasonal birds. I've seen the occasional bobcat and eagle as well.

We are animal lovers and all of the cats and dogs that share our home with us

are strays or come from our local shelter,

Second Chance, in Shaftsbury, VT.
